Managing Allowed Domains
The Allowed Domains feature lets you control which domains can embed your Zero Docs chat widget. This security setting ensures your widget only loads on approved websites.
Navigating to Allowed Domains
- From your project sidebar, locate your project (e.g., "Zero Docs")
- Click Allowed Domains in the project menu
The Allowed Domains page will display your current domain restrictions and a form to add new domains.
Understanding Domain Restrictions
By default, your chat widget can load on any domain with no restrictions. When you add allowed domains, the widget will only load on pages served from those specific domains.
Current status indicator:
- If you see "No domain restrictions. Widget can load on any domain." — the widget is unrestricted
- If domains are listed — the widget is restricted to those domains only
Adding an Allowed Domain
In the Add Domain section, enter the domain in the Domain field
- Example:
yourapp.com - Do not include
http://orhttps:// - Do not include paths or query parameters
- Example:
Click Add Domain
The domain will be added to your allowed list, and the widget will now only load on approved domains.
Removing Domain Restrictions
To allow the widget to load on any domain again, remove all domains from your allowed list. Leave the list empty to disable restrictions.
Next Steps
After configuring allowed domains, you may want to:
- Review your chat widget embed code
- Test the chat agent on your approved domains
