Custom Domain
Serve your documentation on your own domain. Add a CNAME record pointing to Zero Docs, then register the domain below.
Current Domain Status
When no custom domain is configured, you'll see:
No custom domain configured.
Once a domain is registered and verified, this section will display your active custom domain and its SSL certificate status.
Setup Steps
Follow these steps to configure a custom domain for your Zero Docs documentation:
1. Add a CNAME Record
In your DNS provider's settings, add a CNAME record for your desired documentation subdomain pointing to:
docs.zerodocs.io
Example DNS Configuration:
| Record Type | Name | Value | TTL |
|---|---|---|---|
| CNAME | docs | docs.zerodocs.io | 3600 |
This would make your documentation accessible at docs.yourapp.com.
2. Wait for DNS Propagation
DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate globally. You can verify propagation using DNS lookup tools before proceeding to the next step.
3. Register the Domain
Once DNS propagation is complete, register your domain in Zero Docs:
- Navigate to Custom Domain in your project settings
- Enter your full domain name (e.g.,
docs.yourapp.com) in the Domain field - Click Register Domain
4. SSL Certificate Provisioning
After successful domain registration, Zero Docs will automatically provision an SSL certificate for your custom domain. This process is handled entirely by the platform—no additional configuration is required.
