Connect to Slack
Once your knowledge base is loaded, you can connect your Zero Docs chat agent to a Slack workspace with a single click.
Step 1: Navigate to Slack Agent Settings
- Log in to your Zero Docs dashboard
- Select your project from the sidebar
- Navigate to Integrations → Slack Agent
Step 2: Authorize the Integration
On the Slack Agent page, you'll see a description of the integration and an Add to Slack button.
Click Add to Slack to begin the authorization flow. You'll be redirected to Slack to:
- Choose which workspace to install the bot in
- Review the permissions the bot requires
- Authorize the connection
Step 3: Confirm Connection
After authorizing, you'll be redirected back to Zero Docs. A success banner will confirm the Slack bot is connected.
Using the Slack Bot
Once connected, your team can interact with the bot in two ways:
Direct Messages
Team members can open a DM with the Zero Docs bot and ask questions directly:
User: How do I reset a user's password in the admin panel?
Bot: [responds with steps from your knowledge base]
Channel Mentions
In any channel where the bot is present, team members can @mention it:
User: @Zero Docs what's our policy on data retention?
Bot: [responds with compliance information from your docs]
The bot responds using the same knowledge base as your web widget, ensuring consistent answers across all touchpoints.
Managing the Integration
To disconnect or reconfigure the Slack integration, return to Integrations → Slack Agent in your project settings. You can remove the bot from your workspace at any time through the Slack admin panel or by revoking authorization in Zero Docs.
For questions about the Slack integration, visit Support & Contact or refer to the Chat Agent documentation for details on how the underlying AI responds to queries.
